[challenge] Stump Me

Because I can never have enough on my plate. Taken from tsuki_neesan and modified because if I didn't, you would kill me.

A) Go to my fics and pick out a line or two from one of my stories. These stories can only be from the months of June to December.

B) I will respond with which story I think it's from.

C) Points and a mini-drabble (that's a few lines, by my definition) to anyone who stumps me

Hitsugaya didn’t know why he was having trouble going to see Hinamori now that she was awake. After all the time he spent by her side when she was in a coma he’d thought he’d be ecstatic to be able to actually talk to her and say things like… like…

Like he had no idea what to say.

Hitsugaya rubbed a hand over his face, muttering black things to himself. He carefully kept his presence hidden, silently watching as Hinamori laughed with Isane while the vice-captain checked her vitals. He didn’t know how long it was standing there, but Hitsugaya sensed someone behind him with a jolt.

He whirled and found Byakuya standing a scant few inches away from him.

“Wha-“

“Flowers.”

Hitsugaya blinked. “I-I’m sorry?”

“Flowers.” Byakuya repeated patiently. “Most women enjoy flowers. Especially when they are not feeling at their best.” In a gentle sweep of coat and scarf, the 6th division captain left his words to be absorbed by the off-kilter Hitsugaya.

*blushes* Aw, thanks! This is actually the second idea I went with. The first one was too angsty, but it was still essentially the same thing :P

So heart-warming! It's BYAKUYA giving out flower advices. I'm thrown. lol Very clever, methinks. I like your use of "gentle" for his coat and scarf sweeping, too. It makes him seem quiet and graceful, rather than arrogant.

The only thing is that - and it doesn't really have anything to do with the fine story - goddangit, Byakuya's talking about women's liking flower "especially when they are not feeling at their best" makes me think about him and Hisana. Did he bring her flowers to her then, too, that he knows now from experience? *bangs head* God, I love them too much for my own good, too tragic for my heart to bear, though.
