Just realized I'd forgotten to put this up here after a year and a half. Oops. The final part of this crazy crack ship saga.

Title: Say it Again
Fandom: Star Wars: Republic Commando/Bad Batch
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 5592
Characters: Hunter, Fixer, various appearances by Omega, Niner, Laseema, Wrecker and others

ajremix: (Default)
Title: The Little Things
Fandom: Transformers: Rescue Bots
Rating: G
Word Count: 746
Characters: Heatwave, Chase
Summary: Set after 1x06. Sometimes it's the little things you need help with.

It was a superficial flaw, a couple of shallow divots that crumpled the edge of the door. )
ajremix: (Default)
Fic that got well out of hand but, hey, at least I wrote and posted something this year, right? Link goes to AO3 because it's a long one. Title modified from Walt Whitman's poem This Moment Yearning and Thoughtful.

ajremix: (Default)
Title: Paradigm Shift
Fandom: Star Wars: Republic Commando
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 2238
Characters: Laseema, Fixer
Summary: Set before part 4 of Tie a Knife with a Ribbon. Laseema and Fixer and a little needed perspective.

Do you know if it’s because you don’t like the attention or because you’re not used to it? )
ajremix: (Default)
Why is Omega hanging out with Scorch (and Sev) by herself? Who knows. I don't. Title modified from Sonata Arctica's "My Dream's but a Drop of Fuel for a Nightmare".

Title: If You Believe the Dream then You also Fear Your Shadow
Fandom: Star Wars: Republic Commando/Bad Batch
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 2262
Characters: Scorch, Omega
Summary: Old traumas come back to haunt them both.

Do you often have nightmares about me? )
ajremix: (Default)
I wanted so very badly to name it after a line in Predator: The Musical but there wasn't one that worked with the fic. So instead the title comes from a track off the Prey soundtrack which is close enough though not as fun.

Title: Thrill of the Chase
Fandom: Star Wars: Republic Commando/Bad Batch
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 1896
Characters: Hunter, Mird, Nulls, Fixer
Summary: Deep in the the forest a beast is on the hunt.

He managed to get an arm up, the beast’s jaws snapping around that rather than Hunter’s throat. )
ajremix: (Default)

ajremix: (Default)
Well. Didn't expect to post this on May the Fourth but I guess not being in the right mental space for proofing yesterday worked out. Title from A Charming Spell by Splashdown. I'm going to write up a director's commentary type thing for it soon.

Title: Tie a Knife with a Ribbon
Fandom: Star Wars: Republic Commando/Bad Batch
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 13651
Characters: Hunter, Fixer, Clone Force 99, Delta Squad, minor appearance by Phee
Summary: The evolution of a relationship as documented through knives.

You kicked my ass and stole my knife. Of course I noticed you. )
ajremix: (Default)
Yeesh, apparently I can't write about clone armor without using it as a vessel for deeper clone concerns. What was originally a fun scene involving Delta and some paint turned into Sev projecting his issues onto it. I just have a lot of thoughts about clones and their armor as a form of expression and extension of themselves, okay? Fun fact: the 'pattern' on Sev's design never the same between sources, that certainly didn't complicate things. Title from Trocadero's That Man in Red.

Title: The Hue for Which I'd Been Born and Bred
Fandom: Star Wars: Republic Commando
Rating: PG
Word Count: 2191
Characters: Delta Squad, minor appearances by Jango and Vau
Summary: Commandos being able to paint their armor was a privilege but not one they were all comfortable with.

Even his brothers, as they twisted to admire their new look, were an intimidating sight.  Sev just felt like a fool. )
ajremix: (Default)
Being back in clone hell, of course I'd also be back on my favorite clone-related dinghy. This was supposed to be quick and sexy armor porn inspired by various other armor porn fics I read, but then they both decided to have 3k worth of feelings on me.

Title from Roxette's Paint.

Title: Paint Your Love
Fandom: Star Wars: Republic Commando
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: 3071
Characters: Niner, Boss
Summary: Clonecest. Just some armor porn and feelings.

What would that be like, he’d wondered more than once, to have Boss’s bare body as his canvas. )
ajremix: (Default)
Takes place in the nonexistent RepComm sequel where Sev ends up joining the beginnings of the rebellion. I haven't found a detailed explanation for how the inhibitor chips work but I figure there'd be some kind of fail-safe in the event Order 66 is instituted while a clone is unable to take comms, has busted gear or is simply sleeping. I personally imagine once chips are activated they transmit an activation code to any inactive chips nearby and the order stays dormant in the mind until a trigger (Jedi) occurs.

Title from Iron Maiden's Afraid to Shoot Strangers.

Title: Go Now and Finish What's to be Done
Fandom: Star Wars: Republic Commando
Rating: PG
Word Count: 2988
Characters: Sev, original characters
Summary: A year after the fall of the Republic, Sev brushes against Order 66.

That can’t be a coincidence, right?  That you started thinking about killing Jedi at the same time one’s supposed to come here? )
ajremix: (Default)
Do I plan to put Delta Squad into everything possible? Yes, why is that even a question.

Title: Red Hands
Fandom: The Mandalorian, Star Wars: Republic Commando
Rating: G
Word Count: 1799
Characters: Din Djarin, Boba Fett, Delta Squad
Summary: In which Din, once again, does not know anything that goes on in the Star Wars universe.

There are certain clans I won’t associate with.  They’re one of ‘em. )
ajremix: (Default)
Some rando: It's been fifteen years and you're still not over Boss breaking Vau's arm?
Me: Are you trying to tell me there are people that are???

Title: Clean Break
Fandom: Star Wars: Republic Commando
Rating: G
Word Count: 746
Characters: Walon Vau, Mij Gilamar
Summary: Some people would've been embarrassed to have their arm broken by a child. Vau was rather proud.

I’ve broken a number of bones in the past, Gilamar.  This is hardly a novelty. )
ajremix: (Default)
Been back in clone commando hell for the last couple weeks and a couple videos I'd been watching reminded me that, in Legends-era at least, a lot of the Mandalorian words and customs that spread through the regular troopers were mainly from commandos and ARCs and my mind kind of went on a tangent from there.

I guess clones play hacky sack now.

Title: Kicking It
Fandom: Star Wars: Clone Wars/Republic Commando
Rating: G
Word Count: 1217
Characters: Cody, Obi-Wan, Delta Squad, various minor appearances
Summary: In which clones play a game except for when it's not a game.

Whenever a new trend went through the troops, it tended to be started by either commandos or Jedi and Jedi trends were generally less… raucous. )

I originally wrote this back in August of 2020 in fits and spurts and periods of neglect over the course of a few weeks. Before I could put this up, however, I suffered a personal tragedy that left me in a severely depressed state that I'm still in the process of working through. During that time I ended up in a cycle of forgetting about this, remembering it and then procrastinating until I forgot it again which is why I'm only getting around to posting it now.

At least I've finished one fic last friggin' year.

Just some speculation to deal with a frustratingly hastily dropped plot point. Title from Sonata Arctica's "The Boy Who Wanted to be a Real Puppet". Minor spoilers for early parts of Raven's backstory/The Empty Mask but otherwise ignores it.

Title: This Only Ends with a Sharp Knife
Fandom: Tales of Vesperia
Rating: PG
Word Count: 2888
Characters: Raven/Schwann, Flynn, Yuri
Summary: Pre-game/mid-game. Perhaps the strings on Alexei's puppet weren't as strong as either of them thought.

Flynn had the makings of someone that could tear down all of Alexei's plans. )

I gotta say, the fact that the game ends with all the world's blastia turning into spirits, I'm shocked and somewhat disappointed at the lack of post-game spirit world speculation. I kind of like a Shaman King-esque situation where spirits (weaker spirits) are tiny floating figures that can lend a person of their choosing their power or empower items. I also like the idea that the barrier blastia became city spirits that can act in their own interests but also protect their respective cities.

Eventually. After Estelle ran around for a year or two trying to talk the spirits into being cooperative.

Title: The Beginning of Forever
Fandom: Tales of Vesperia
Rating: G
Word Count: 2618
In Responds to: Fluri Week 2019: Sweet Sunday
Characters: Flynn, Yuri, cameo by Judith and a couple OCs
Summary: Future fic, it's the first day of the rest of Flynn's life.

You've been keeping Yuri in line for me, haven't you? )
ajremix: (Default)
Spent all day at work and forgot that it was Saturday oops.

Title: Sick as a Dog
Fandom: Tales of Vesperia
Rating: PG
Word Count: 1888
In Responds to: Fluri Week 2019: Sick Saturday
Characters: Yuri, Flynn, Repede
Summary: Pre-game. Few things can resolve a rocky relationship like sick family.

With Flynn, Repede would have a purpose, better care, better food. A better life. )

Back when I first started playing around with ideas for a hockey AU I'd written a number of snippets for it of which this originally started out as. Then, because I liked the idea enough to want to turn this snippet into a standalone for Fluri Week, I tacked on 3500+ more words. Between that, work, and being horrible ill for over a week, I didn't get to finish much else for the week :/

Title: Power Through
Fandom: Tales of Vesperia
Rating: PG-13 for language
Word Count: 4388
In Responds to: Fluri Week 2019: Whump Wednesday
Characters: Flynn, Yuri, Zagi, Estelle, minor appearances by others
Summary: Hockey AU. Zagi wants Yuri's attention but Yuri won't give his former teammate the time of day. Flynn gets caught in the middle.

Are you fighting with Yuri again? )
ajremix: (Default)
Title from Damien Rice's Cannonball.

Title: Step a Little Closer to Me
Fandom: Tales of Vesperia
Rating: G
Word Count: 712
In Responds to: Fluri Week 2019: Miss You Monday
