[challenge] Sentence Prompt

Back from a nice vacation and in the process of trying to get back into my daily routine- which will start tomorrow with a prompt visit to the grocery store...

So, as I resettle we're going to do another challenge with a twist. Pick a series from the list:

Pick up a book- preferably the closest one on hand. Go to page 42 and type the 6th sentence. I'll have to make a drabble in your chosen series that uses that sentence.

Let's see how long it takes me to rue this challenge.

Some times it was so difficult to know what Luffy was thinking or what his opinion was or if he had any at all. Whenever he thought anything beyond 'meat' and 'full speed ahead' was a mystery to his crew and Nami, with that moment being what it was, did not appreciate it.

She stood, just outside of arms reach of him and said, "I want to hear your thoughts now, before we set a course that can't be reversed. If we do this, there's no stopping. No changing. It's all or nothing and I need to know that you understand it and you want it, too."

Nami should've known better- what was outside of her reach did not make it outside of Luffy's which she was suddenly reminded of as an arm wrapped warmly around her waist and pulling her against his chest.

"All the time you've known me," he said into the orange waves of Nami's hair, "when have I ever stopped or changed my mind? I'll see this through to the end, just like every important thing I've done. No matter what it takes, making you happy and keeping you happy is my greatest goal."

She pulled back, just enough to put her hand to his cheek, "Just so long as you're happy with me."

Luffy's lips spread into that infectious, boyish, too-wide grin he'd never grown out of. "Absolutely!"

'tis indeed Glenn from Chrono Cross. :3 One of my top fave characters from the game (Norris and Karsh are the other top two. I like Serge, too. ^.^)

For OP shipping prefrences, I like a bunch of pairings. That's one of the fun things about the series; so many possibilities, and the fandom is usually open to many/all of 'em (well, depends what circles of the fandom, I guess, but in general, there seems to be a lot of 'anything goes!' :3)

Luffy/Nami can be fun + adorable. I certainly enjoy and like this pairing. :) And THIS was absolutely fun and sweet and adorable and much love to it! ^___^ ♥ ♥ ♥ Luffy DOES always go full-out in everything he does. Commits wholeheartedly, and puts his all into everything he feels deeply about. When he's SERIOUS about it, at least. *grin* I can definitely understand Nami's caution, though. But with a dedicated Luffy, she's in good hands. :3 I had to laugh at the 'out of her reach doesn't mean out of Luffy's reach' bit. XD

I also enjoy Nami/Usopp, and Franky/Robin. (Though it's rare, I have a minor enjoyment with Zoro/Vivi, or Sanji/Vivi. Given their responsibilities/goals, I can't really see anything LASTING between them, but I still like an attraction between the two[three?]) Slash-wise, I think Luffy/Usopp can be amusing (but I don't seem to like reading anything sexual regarding that. Maybe because they just seem so 'kiddish', it seems _odd_ to see 'em like that. ^^;) I've read some good Smoker/Ace stuff.

But my all time favourite pairing is Zoro/Sanji (and Sanji/Zoro). Hands down. :3 (and sorry to go on for such a long rant. x.x)

I haven't played that game is so long, I can barely remember who my favorites are anymore but I think Karsh was one of them (at least in terms of being an effective character in battle).

I'm more for nakama-ship than general shipping, but I'm absolutely partial to Zoro/Sanji, Luffy/Nami and Franky/Robin. Occasionally I'll read anything else that catches my interest, though.

Been a long time since I played, too. One of those three was (almost) always in my party, though. :3

Nakama-shipping is great, too. I enjoy the rather dysfunctional but intensely strong friendships they all have with each other. :3 Those pairings you mention are pretty much my 'default' pairings I enjoy, too. :3 (forgot to mention Usopp/Kaya in the above post. Just the sweet aspect of it. ^^;)

UsoKaya is cute, sure enough. I could probably be sold on Usopp/Nami, though, given some of their recent characterization together. When I bother to keep up with new chapters *so bad at that*
