[challenge] Skip Tracers Sketch Challenge

Because I need to get back into drawing my characters and having them look correct instead of just passable, I'm going to be doing a sketch challenge.

That is, pick anywhere between 1-3 characters and a prompt. There's no limits to how many challenges you give me, but I'm only going to open this to the most pressing characters.

This challenge will be open for an indetermined amount of time, so feel free to keep challenging me until I close it out.



Bah, I'm out of practice and it's painfully obvious, the only thing I do like in this is the idea. And Tio's hand is goddamn backwardsT.T;; I wanted to have them being asses in a restaurant (making a spaghetti rope in public is the tamest thing they've done) but I was getting frustrated.




So it appears that how good Third's hair looks determines how I feel about the rest of the pic. It's not too bad, though Bowen doesn't look near as tall or lanky as he should be. And his machete isn't nearly as wicked as it should look. But I am in love with doing his hair, oddly enough.




Ran out of lead halfway through darkening the pic. Ah well. Gunny's a little smaller than he should be and Balt's in need of a haircut, but not too bad, I don't think. Especially for characters I don't draw too much of.




Had to go with a lighter pencil, so it's not so dark. Damn. Third is not a fan of sweets and bitters, hence his... reaction. And because 6th squad is such a tight group, Tio and Kai demanded to be added. Because nothing says friendship like pulling pranks.




That's right. You're looking at a black woman. I am pro-fucking-active here, biotch. I want to get to Hunter because I want to see how much fun she is. Every female character I have is either leaning towards cutesy or tomboy. Hunter is the one that bridges between the two extremes so I really want to see how she works out.




Definitely not his kind of outfit and if it weren't for the hat in his face, you could tell. Actually, I like how it looks with the hat- an item that Bowen rarely takes off unless he can't wear it or I force him to take it off (like in the last sketch). At least he has a pointy, sharp blade, too so he's not entirely upset.




Not the best of pictures- especially in depicting their relationship. Hunter loves bothering Balt during working hours, but as Balt doesn't mind procrastinating in order to talk with friends (unless he has gunny breathing down his neck) this sketch is a bit more like false advertising. Unless you know the story behind it.




Like I said, these three always seem to find a way to get in together. 6th Squad has this unfortunate ability to do something in every mission that causes them to get yelled at by Gunny at loud volumes. Kai, evidently, lucked out in giving this particular report.




This is in color because I just bought new markers and colored pencils that I wanted to get used to working with. I have a couple more colored pictures I'm going to put up in a bit. And yes, Kai's afraid of snakes. Yes, his last name translates to snakes, but he's afraid of them. He claims it's hereditary. And while Tio wouldn't go straight out and torment Kai with harmless snakes (even if he claims to not like kai) he'll definitely take any chance to split his sides laughing at him.
