peroxidepest17 who I blame for tonight’s mass of inspiration.
Summary: Somewhat spoiler for 195 and up. The heroes return home and then some.
“Shuuhei.”
“Hm?”
“I’ve been back for three days now.”
“Hm.”
“I think it’s about time I get back to my division.”
Hisagi tightened his grip on Yumichika’s waist. “Hm.”
“Shuuhei.”
“Nrg.”
Yumichika reached back to bop Hisagi on the head. “If you won’t let me leave, at least let me get your present.”
That perked Hisagi up. “A present? For me?”
“If you can bare to let me go for half a minute.”
With an exaggerated sigh he let the fifth seat go. “Fine. If you must.”
“You’re too kind.” He placed a kiss on the underside of Hisagi’s jaw before padding across the room to dig through the bag that got dumped in the corner three days prior. With a triumphant laugh Yumichika pulled out a thick stack of papers and padded back to the bed where Hisagi had the blankets pulled back for him.
“Well?” The other man asked as Yumichika resettled against his chest. “What is it?”
“These.” He dropped the stack on Hisagi’s lap. “Wrote you every day I was gone.”
Aw, man… Any of the guys find out he wibbled over something like this he’d never live it down. “Yumi…”
“Go on. Read them.”
“All right.” He opened up the first one, but not before pulling Yumichika in for another kiss. “Dear Shuuhei. The human world is very strange, not particularly attractive but is, in all accounts, not a horrible place. The fashion is odd but somewhat intriguing. We’ve met up with Ichigo again and it’s so amusing watching him and our two boneheads going at it. I really miss you, though. It’s going to be lonely without you here. I love you so much and can’t wait to get back home…” Hisagi trailed off, flipping curiously to the next one. “Ikkaku nearly got himself killed by an Arrancar but at least we have a place to stay tonight. Still going to be hard without you but I’m afraid I’ll have to manage.”
All the other letters followed the same formula. A line or two about what was happening and the rest saying how much he loved and missed Hisagi. Amused by this the vice-captain kissed the other man’s shoulder. “Babe, aren’t letters supposed to be about what’s happening?”
“Oh?” Came the easy reply. “I was under the impression that letters were supposed to be about what’s important. I missed you and I love you. That’s what’s important to me.”
As if he didn’t love Yumichika enough already. “You’re too much, you know that?”
“So does that mean you didn’t write me any letters?” The other asked playfully.
“There ain’t enough words to say what I want.” He said before pulling Yumichika into the pillows.
