And my reign of terror is at an end. Tonight.
Title: Like Riding a Bike
Fandom: Bleach
Rating: G
Word Count: 203
Characters: Masaki, Ichigo
Summary: When you fall, you learn.
“Y-You’re not gonna let me go, are you Mom?”
She smiled patiently at the back of his head. “Of course not, Ichigo. I’ll hold you up the entire way.”
“Okay.” Swallowing hard he started pushing on the pedals. “Here I go.”
He started off slowly, gradually and fearfully picking up speed. Masaki trotted easily behind him and started to take her hands off the seat, one at a time. It wobbled under her but stayed up right.
Ichigo, ignorant of his mother’s actions, cried out, “I’m doing it, Mom! I’m doing it!”
“That’s wonderful!” She said, slowing to a walk. “I knew you could!”
He was heading for a bend in the street so he looked back to tell his mother, “Don’t let-“ and saw her waving from ten feet behind him.
She saw plainly the ultimate-mother-betrayed-me look on Ichigo’s face. And then covered her face when he crashed into a pile of trash. Masaki went over to him slowly, hoping desperately she didn’t look like she wanted to laugh as much as she did and said, “Ichigo, sweetie. That’s why you have to always watch where you’re going.”
From under the bike and the trash a banana peel flew at her calves.
