Ikkaku love continues to rise.
Title: Persuasive Argument
Fandom: Bleach
Rating: PG
Word Count: 281
Characters: Hitsugaya, Ikkaku, Renji, Rukia, Yumichika, Rangiku
Summary: Spoiler for chap 195. An issue arises during the mission briefing.
Hitsugaya shifted through his papers, cleared his throat and addressed the five other shinigami in his office. “Each of you have been recommended by your captains for a mission of the utmost importance and have all willingly agreed to undertake this. The papers you’ve been given have all the guidelines that we’re required to work under…” He trailed when Ikkaku placed his guide on the desk and pushed it back Hitsugaya’s way.
“I’m not doin’ it.”
And Hitsugaya promptly lost his train of thought.
“What?”
“I said I’m not doin’ it.”
Yumichika looked flabbergasted. “But you wouldn’t stop talking about how excited you were to go to the mortal world and try fighting Ichigo again.”
“Not doin’ it.”
Rukia, who had a good idea as to what this was about, raised an eyebrow. “Is it because we’re not allowed to bring our zanpakuto out in public?”
There was silence, then hasty skimming as the other three looked at the rules.
“We CAN’T!?” Renji burst out. “What the hell??”
“It’s considered a threat and is illegal,” Hitsugaya said evenly, glaring at them. “We’ll still have them, just not when we’re in our gigai.”
“I ain’t goin’ anywhere without my sword.”
“Che!” The young captain opened up a drawer and pulled out an envelope. He threw it at Ikkaku. “Had a feeling you’d say that. Read it.”
He complied. Read it. And paled. “…..Fine, I’ll go.”
The others blinked at the letter, infinitely curious. “What, what’d it say?”
In Zaraki’s chicken-scratch handwriting, the letter said, ‘If you ain’t goin’, I’ll take your place and you can watch Yachiru until I get back’.
Hitsugaya smirked to himself, “And if there are no further questions?”
