Summary: Lee tries to find a present for Sakura and sarcasm is lost.
Lee looked positively shocked. “Do you really mean it?”
Ino, who Lee considered to be the expert on Sakura-san, tried not to smile too broadly. “I’m certain.”
Ten Ten, who came along to make sure Lee didn’t do anything dumber than usual, thought. “I’m not too surprised, really. She seems like the type that would like to cuddle.”
“But… but… That’s great!” Lee hooted, dancing around the register. “Sakura-san is so pure and innocent, still finding security in small, fluffy stuffed woodland creatures!”
Terrified that he was scaring off potential customers, Ino grabbed onto the back of Lee’s shirt and dragged back to the counter. “Calm down, will you!” She hissed. “Besides, it’s not like Sakura will take just ANY stuffed animal! Especially for her birthday.”
“That’s not a surprise, either.” Ten Ten put in. “She’s seems like the really particular type.”
Lee, ready to learn from anyone, stood at attention before the girls and saluted. “Please! Tell this unworthy suitor what he must do in order to win the love of the most beautiful flower to blossom in the proudest ninja village!”
Ten Ten took one look at Ino’s grin and edge away. A lot.

Sakura’s birthday came along and Ten Ten had dragged Ino out of the flower shop.
“What?” The blonde snapped. “I was in the middle of an order for-“
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGETAWAYFROMMENONONONONODON’TCOMEANYCLOSER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Sakura screamed past, barely recognizable save for her terrified pleas.
“But Sakura-san!” Lee tottered by just as quickly in a full-bodied teddy bear costume. “You haven’t cuddled with your birthday present yet! Hug and love your fluffy present with all your heart!”
Ino’s jaw dropped, remaining speechless for several long since after the screams faded away. “……..I can’t believe he took me seriously.”
“When it comes to Sakura,” Ten Ten told her, “I’m surprised you didn’t think he would.”
