Summary: So sayeth the title.

“You called me, Tomoyo-hime?”

“Ah, Kurogane.” The little princess smiled at the kneeling man. “Come.”

He looked up and frowned. Tomoyo sat at a small table, pouring tea into a cup with delicate white hands.

“Sit.” She said. “Join me for tea.”

His hand, forever gripping his sword, tightened. “I don’t do tea parties.” He scoffed. “Get Souma to play with you.”

“Souma’s delivering a message.” Tomoyo replied, pouring a second cup.

Kurogane snorted again, but got up and settled his long body across from her. The tiny table and equally tiny princess seemed like a baby’s toy next to him, swathed in finery and silks. With all the grace of a man swigging sake, Kurogane picked up the ceramic cup and threw back the drink. He coughed at the scalding liquid.

Tomoyo looked at him over the rim of her own cup. Her smile was evident in her eyes, gleaming brighter than the polished stones dotting her headdress.

“Patience, Kurogane.” She chided gently. “Patience and moderation.”

“Why the hell do you serve tea that hot?” He choked out, glaring at her.

She placed the cup back on the table- the pale of her hand as precise as his order to strike. Her lips were brighter from the heat of the tea. “So that when we talk,” she said with a smile, “the tea may cool to a proper temperature.”

“Waste of time.” His cup clanked loudly on the table and Tomoyo refilled it.

“It must be terrible for you. Indulging me like this.”

“Feh! Like I have a choice.” Kurogane grumbled. He sipped the tea carefully this time.

Tomoyo’s little hands barely encompassed her cup while Kurogane looked as if he was struggling not to crush his with heavy fingers. “There is always a choice.” She told the tea lightly. “There is no choice only if you ignore all of the others.”

His frown was dark. “If there’s a path laid out before me, that’s enough.” Bracing himself, he gulped the rest of the tea. Setting it down, he bowed his head. “Tomoyo-hime.”

She raised an acknowledging hand and he stood, striding to the door. “Thank you for your hard work.” She called after him.

“Ah.” Came her reply as the doors shut. With one hand Kurogane unbound his sword. With the other he killed the shadows.

Thank you. I haven't done anything really descriptive in a while so I feel a bit rusty with it. Glad it didn't show too much XD

Okay, so this is like, my second comment for this fic,(anonymous is 1st(-_-') but I have to say I really love it, and it is definitely one the best out of the too few Kurogane and Tomoyo fics out there.

So please do write them more often, I'll be looking forwards to more from you.

Cheers!
