Summary: Accidents mean no one's guilty, ignorance means someone's killed
He was cold, even sitting in someone else’s blood that was still warm and wet and pulsing from a body just short of completely lifeless. The eyes that stared down at him were worse than the ones from his childhood. Those were the eyes of a merciless murderer. These were eyes that considered him lower than trash.
“I-I didn’t…” he gulped, trying to fight down panic.
“No. You didn’t.” Hijikata turned away. “And that is why you will never be a demon.”
And no amount of time spent buried deep in his brother’s arms could ever bring that warmth back.
