Title: Kiss That Frog
Fandom: Naruto
Rating: G
Word Count: 307
Characters: Sakura, Lee
Summary: And now… I won’t be able to listen to Peter Gabriel’s song the same way again.
Once upon a time, and perhaps you’ve heard of this story, there was a young princess. She was very kind and intelligent and very, very beautiful. She was also, however, a little spoiled.
(“He doesn’t have any parents to scold him. That’s why he’s always so selfish.”)
The one thing that she loved above all else was a perfect golden ball- her most beloved possession.
(“I heard you like Sasuke-kun, too. That makes us rivals.”)
But then, one day, as she was playing with her ball she accidentally lost it deep in a lake.
(“I’m not like you. We have different paths we must follow.”)
She cried for many hours by the lake, believing she would never hold her ball again and wishing there was something she could do.
(“Don’t go! Or at least… take me with you!”)
It was then she met a most hideous frog. And this frog offered in his croaking voice to retrieve her most favorite ball in exchange for a little friendship.
(“Everything will turn out fine.”)
And though the frog returned her golden ball, the princess treated him terribly. But the little frog persisted and remained close and dutifully by her side. And she did not realize how much she cared for him until the frog had become frighteningly injured.
(“This isn’t for Sasuke-kun. This is for Lee-san.”)
And then the princess realized that the little frog had become more important to her than her beloved golden ball. Because no matter how much love she gave to the ball, the frog was the one that returned that love to her.
(“When you’re in danger, I will appear.”)
And when she had accidentally lost her ball deep in the lake again, the frog offered to retrieve it once more for her.
The princess just smiled and asked him to come back safely.
