Summary: Fear my hidden crack pairing! XD
There was once a time when people had thought Kiba would be a playa. Indeed, for a time, he thought so himself. But after utterly failing to get anywhere with Hinata and Akamaru out grew his cute, fluffy puppy phase and Kiba forgot to look up ‘good manners’ in the dictionary every morning, it appeared that that image was all wrong for him.
For a while this irked Kiba. He was a healthy teenager, he was good looking (in a wild way), he was charismatic (in an ill-mannered way) and he was interesting (in a ‘I’m-bored-and-am-now-going-to-be-a-maniac’ way) but he never once had a girlfriend. Hell, he never once even got that legendary ‘first kiss’.
But, growing older still, Kiba realized that- while girls didn’t much like staying in his presence for long –he didn’t much like girls’ presence either. Sure they were pretty and they smelled nice but asides from that, girls tended to bore him. So Kiba eventually forgot about them.
That didn’t mean he didn’t wonder sometimes. The collection of Icha Icha Paradise (which he stole from his uncle) could attest to that. He’d spend his evenings reading over tagged pages and spend his nights wondering.
“Wondering what?”
If he ever had questions he found that Shikamaru always had some sort of answer. “You never kissed anyone before, have you?”
Shikamaru frowned. “You wake me up for this?”
“Have you?”
“How do you mean.”
Kiba stretched out besides the other ninja. “Like a girlfriend.”
“No.”
“I haven’t, either.”
“So?”
“So I wonder what’s so special about first kisses.”
“Nothing.”
A thick eyebrow crooked up. “How do you know?”
“Why /would/ they different?”
“I dunno. They’re special somehow.”
With little preamble, Shikamaru rolled onto his elbows and pressed his lips against Kiba’s. The kiss was like Shikamaru- quick, dry and entirely disinterested. Rolling back in his original position he asked, “Does that help?”
“Yeah. Now I know why you never kiss anyone.” That said, Kiba pulled Shikamaru in for another.
