Winter was a horrible, horrible season that was created just to see how many people would freeze to death.

Then man created houses with indoor plumbing and electrical heating and laughed in the face of spiteful gods of wintery oblivion.

Then the spiteful gods of wintery oblivion realized they could knock out power to those houses and laughed right back in the face of man.

Elec really hated those guys. Especially when the power went off in the fortress.

There was the tapping of a finger against glass as Metal frowned at the coffee-maker/impromptu hot cocoa maker.

“Elec,” he said sweetly, “the hot cocoa’s cold again.”

With an abused sigh he reached for the cord.
