Wash was where York last left him- crouched next to a building with a glove off and hand outstretched. The cat Wash was still trying to coax closer just stared at him.

“Give up, man.” York said, approaching from behind.

“I just want to pet it,” was Wash's response. The cat kept staring with unblinking eyes.

“You're a cat person. Why am I not surprised?”

“What do you mean?”

“Considering your taste in women?” York walked off. “Don't fall behind.”

Wash just stared after him until the cat scratched his hand and ran away.
