Title: Falling is like Flying
Fandom: Red vs Blue

Characters: 479er

Summary: 479er has it under control.
Were she a nicer person, 479er would admit that she found it hilarious whenever people freaked out if the engines cut off. Instead she held her amusement inside to review and entertain herself after her job was complete and her baby repaired. Were she a meaner person, 479er would deliberately find ways to make the engines cut off just to make people freak.
Very few understood the fact that going into freefall in a Pelican wasn't a crisis- only a few of those few were pilots themselves, 479er was somewhat ashamed to admit. Carolina would sit calmly in the gunner position and stare at her in a silent reprimand about overly indulging herself. York, sitting in the same seat during transport for solo missions and understanding that touching any buttons meant instant death for him, would belt out some inappropriately bouncy and 479er would sing along because, hey- she had it under control. The only other Freelancer that never got worked up was Maine who sat in the back with his arms crossed over the safety harness, legs crossed at the ankles and looking, for all the world, bored. 479er would've been a little insulted if she didn't find amusement in that, as well. But at least they figured it out while everyone else screamed and cursed and prayed as the Pelican plummeted, ignoring the fact that 479er guided it with all the surety and deft-handedness she did a fully functioning Pelican.
Flying, after all, was just a sustained version of falling.
