Technically this is the last Collide thing I have written but tomorrow I'm going to toss up a couple of snippets I have just for the hell of it.

Title: You and I Collide: As Quick as I Can
Fandom: Transformers
Rating: PG
Word Count: 812
Characters: Sandstorm, Fireflight
Summary: In the end it'll all work out.

His internal alert went off for the third time and Sandstorm rumbled at it in annoyance. In a few kliks Broadside would query him to make sure the smaller triplechanger was on his way back to the Xantium. This stop off at the Hub was a long while in coming and they were already set to head off by the start of the next shift. Ah, the joys of being a Wrecker- so much to blow up and hardly enough time to do it in.

(Sandstorm actually lucked out- the Aerialbots were on a long break after their last mission left a couple of them in need of minor medical attention. Springer, not so lucky- both Arcee and Hot Rod were gone and Sandstorm definitely didn’t want to step wrong given the circumstances and his leader’s less than stellar mood.)

So, as much as he was loathed to get up from this all-too comfortable position, Sandstorm knew he had no choice unless he wanted to potentially bringing trouble down on Fireflight on top of himself. The jet was heavy and warm, half curled on Sandstorm’s torso and engine purring, still in recharge. A black hand ghosted lightly over Fireflight’s fuselage, traced the angles of his helmet. Sandstorm smiled softly under his battlemask, content with just lying there.

But duty calls and Sandstorm slipped his hands to Fireflight’s shoulders to give him a little shake.

“Hey,” he said lowly, “Flight, I gotta go.”

“Mrf.”

That hidden smile grew and he shook Fireflight again. In response, Fireflight just snuggled against the Wrecker’s cockpit and hooked an arm around his side.

“Flight.”

“Nrrrrgh.”

Sandstorm’s amused chuckled turned suspiciously into a giggle near the end as wandering hands found that right spot (as they always did). Though Fireflight’s possessive frown hadn’t changed the sound made his optics flash on in delight. Deciding he really needed to go before Fireflight got any clever ideas, the triplechanger tried to coax him off yet again.

But Fireflight wasn’t having any of that, clinging tight and running light fingers over seams and sensors that made Sandstorm gasp. The Aerialbot broke character, grinning broadly as the other mech’s engine revved hard and sensors spotted a rise in internal temperature. In return, Sandstorm growled, struggling to get Fireflight off of him (even if his hands were running more caresses than they were trying to pull him away). The jet laughed, doing everything he could to cling to Sandstorm, slide against every inch of surface, expression dancing between a playful pout and wicked delight.

All too soon Sandstorm got the query from Broadside. He responded, even as he wrapped his arms around Fireflight to pin the ‘bot down and keep him from wriggling (allegedly), letting the larger mech know he was already online.

That would give him a quarter cycle until he was queried again to get back to Xantium and as much as he wanted otherwise, he was going to have to get up from a warm, comfortable berth.

“Flight,” he said, voice slightly muffled under the aroused hum of his engine and the fact his face was pressed against the cables of the jet’s neck, “I need get going.”

The plaintive, disapproving vibrations coming from Fireflight merely served to make the Wrecker beneath him writhe.

“Springer’ll kill me if I don’t.”

“No, he won’t. He needs you alive too badly.”

Sandstorm snorted. “Okay, yeah. But he will be mad if I’m late. Maybe even at you.”

“I don’t care.” Fireflight pouted, squirming so he covered Sandstorm as best he could. “He can be mad all he wants. You’re going no where.” Even though the both of them knew Sandstorm was bigger, stronger and could easily toss the smaller Aerialbot off.

But instead he just smiled soft and warm through his mask. “But if I don’t leave, I can’t return.”

“But you’d still be here.”

“But you won’t have something to look forward to.”

Narrowing his optics to hide his curiosity, Fireflight asked, “And what’s that?”

“I was thinking,” he said slowly, deliberately, making Fireflight squirm impatiently atop him, “maybe taking some time off to do a little sightseeing planetside. We could watch the moon fish going up the falls in the ravine if we make their migration cycle, maybe take a detour on the way back to the Hub to watch the sun through the ice asteroids.” Sandstorm’s fingers danced over red wings, already imagining the rainbow bands flickering over them from light filtering through spacebodies.

The other mech wriggled, trying not to whimper at the conflicting emotions of arousal, disappointment, possessiveness and anticipation. “You promise?” He asked breathlessly, getting Sandstorm’s own engine hitching in desire.

“I haven’t broken a promise to you yet.”

“Alright,” even with that, Fireflight still had trouble climbing off the triplechanger, “hurry back.”

Sandstorm leaned forward, pressing his helmet to Fireflight’s. “As quick as I can.”

so sweet!

No doubt Sandy burned rubber to finish his mission and hightailed it back to his jet. :)
