Just because I needed someone familiar for this I plugged in Kiyota. This is actually something that came to me when I remembered a buddy of mine left Okinawa early this morning and I never /really/ realized he was leaving until a week ago.

James, I know you’re not gonna read this, but this is for you, Short Round.

Title: Empty-Shaped
Fandom: Slam Dunk
Rating: G
Word Count: 176
Characters: Kiyota
Summary: Second person POV. Jin graduates high school and leaves Kiyota in the back.

It’s been boring the passed few days and you don’t even really know why. You’ve thought about calling people up to hangout but despite the talking and the messing around you don’t really know anybody. Except for Jin, you’ve been friends for years but Jin’s no longer an option open to you. Gone up north to study and leaving you behind and you never really noticed it.

You knew when he was leaving, he talked about it with you for a while but you didn’t actually think about it. Whenever you don’t think about the space he left behind it feels like before and you’re waiting for him to stop by for a quick visit or to see him at school again. But when you think about it it’s painful because you realize he can’t come over for another dinner or talk on the phone until dawn. And while you sit and ache at the emptiness as you think about it you wonder if he remembers you, too.

Because there’s no more school to go to.
