First attempt at FMA (and, by association, Al). Just randomly came to me as I was reading some other fanfiction and it’s not a style I use often so I hope the product ain’t too shabby.

[livejournal.com profile] nkfloofiepoof, I'll get to yours once I look something up as reference. And hopefully make it work out :P

Title: Intertwined: Chisame (Bloody Rain)
Fandom: Full Metal Alchemist
Rating: PG, just in case
Word Count: 253
Characters: Alphonse
Summary: Al thinks about what he’s missed. And what he’s done.

Alphonse didn’t like snow because it was like thick rain. Cold, wet and spilling into places they shouldn’t be.

~cold and wet and everyone is in a hurry and doesn’t notice those less fortunate~

His body is cold normally because metal doesn’t retain heat. That’s why he’s careful in the snow and doesn’t touch niisan.

~less fortunate with no place to get out of the rain~

Watching Ed shiver at his touch makes Al feel colder.

~pitiful, limping in the rain~

Those times Al strains to remember what the cold felt like. Or the taste of candy. Or niisan and Winry tugging at his arms to play.

~lost and alone~

Or the touch of fur under his fingers.

~allowing the heatless touch because at least is was kindness~

At first Al had problems controlling his body because he couldn’t feel. It took years of practice to gauge how tightly he held something and still he occasionally misjudged.

~tainted fur washed with rain and blood and he couldn’t seem to stop those hands~

Niisan hated it whenever Al picked up a stray cat in the rain.

~the wail of pain drowned by the wails of hysteria and he couldn’t cry and that hurt even more~

But to Al it was more of atonement.

~niisan tried to stop him but there was nothing left, splattered in his arms and it felt like another part of him died~

He was too kind to do anything else.

~and it was just too painful~

Alphonse hated the rain.

;;-;; So sad .... it's jerks at the heartstrings.

And I don't even watch FMA.

Interesting writing style on this one. "Squishin' kitties in the raaaiiiin..." Could be a song. You somehow made fatal glompings into a tragic, melancholy thing, despite how humorous it is to me.
