Summary: Sometimes she feels guilty for feeling at home with the JLE.
Sometimes it's difficult to face the day and all the people in it. Sometimes it's easy and that makes it difficult in its own way. She can hear all the yelling and laughter before she even leaves her room and it's so easy to expect that they belong to Wandjina, to Bowman or Johnny but they never do. When she's among her new teammates, their energy is infectious. It's easy to be among them and think they could be family. So easy. Too tempting.
Because this world is too close to how her own once was and sometimes when she wakes up she's afraid to look out her window and see that all the devastation had begun all over again. Sometimes out of the corner of her eye she thinks she sees Dreamslayer or Lord Havok or any of the others. Sometimes when one of her teammates is hurt, sometimes even just dozing in the lounge, she sees Johnny Quick wasting away before her.
She doesn't tell anyone about these moments, of course. What can she say? How can they possibly understand or hope to help her? The only one that might is Jay, but he's found joy in these new skies. She can't possibly endanger that because she can't seem to let go. He deserves any sort of happiness he can get and so long as he believes the Justice League is home, she will endure.
