Summary: Eight pictures and eight 100-word drabbles. Valentine's Day kisses with some of my favorite DCU couples.






Selina Kyle and Bruce Wayne

His hand was tight on her wrist and though her options were limited, there were still ways for Selina to free herself. It all depended on if she felt like getting caught or not.

She leaned in and watched Batman's lips thin, anticipating her kiss. Selina hated being predictable. She pushed up higher and lightly pecked at the tip of Batman's nose, lips pressed against more cowl than skin.

In that briefest, briefest moment of surprise, Selina twisted out of his grip and danced across the rooftop, knowing he'd be close after.

Some nights the chase was the best part.




Ralph and Sue Dibny

"Another day, another interview."

"That's the price of being the Elongated Man."

"Hmmm," Ralph wrapped himself around Sue, molding around her back, "being recognizable the world over, being comfortably rich and being married to the most amazing woman in the world. I suppose it would be cruel if I let someone else suffer all that."

"You're cheeky today."

"Only because I love you."

"If you must," Sue said melodramatically. "I suppose there are worse people to be married to, anyway."

"And who might they be?"

She cupped Ralph's jaw, drawing him near enough to kiss his cheek. "Only anybody else."




Stephanie Brown and Cassandra Cain

Cassandra was on her bed almost as if she'd never left if she weren't attempting to hide behind her scarf. Stephanie merely said, "Welcome back."

Cassandra looked at her, eyes as dark as ever. "Sorry."

"What for?"

"Not telling you. Where I was going. What I was doing. Anything."

"Okay."

"...okay?"

"Okay. You're forgiven."

Cassandra studied her and Stephanie tried to make her body say 'you're here now and I didn't have to chase you down to see you- we're cool' as best she could. She reached over and grabbed Cassandra's shoulders, pressing a kiss against her forehead. "You're forgiven."




Tora Olafsdotter and Guy Gardner

She was there, beautiful and alive just as she always should have been and Guy couldn't help the overwhelming crush of guilt: the woman he cherished above all else and all he could think about was being unfaithful in her memory.

Tora could read it in his eyes because she stepped into his arms and said, "You had a life, Guy. I would've wanted you to move on; live doing what you love doing." She leaned up and kissed his chin, "I'm sorry I missed so much."

He held her close and whispered, "I'm not letting you go. Ever again."




Ted Kord and Booster Gold

He'd been here before- far more times than he thought his heart could take -and he couldn't stop the hope from twisting around his chest or making his eyes prickle with tears. He wanted it so badly to be true as Ted pull back his cowl and smile the way only he could.

"Hey, buddy," Ted said, opening up his arms and Booster fell into them, sobbing against his shoulder and praying he finally got his best friend back for good. Ted just held him tight and pressed a kiss to his temple, "Thanks for not giving up on me."




Scott and Barda Free

She was at the window watching as the neighborhood moved around them. Scott knew Barda was thinking about how lucky those people were. As monotonous and uneventful as their lives were, it was infinitely better than living on Apokolips. Scott wrapped his arms around her waist, resting his cheek against her broad back. Barda relaxed against him and Scott could feel her smiling as he kissed her jaw.

Barda turned, embracing her husband, and both knew no matter how lucky their neighbors were for the life they grew up with, no one was luckier than them for having each other.




Beatriz DeCosta and Tora Olafsdotter

It was a nice apartment and Bea couldn't fault Tora for wanting her own space far from Checkmate, even if it mean being far from Bea.

"I feel terrible that you're paying for this," Tora said.

"Seeing as you have no money and I don't spend much anymore, why not help someone who needs it?" Bea cupped Tora's face, kissing her eyelids one after the other. "Consider it make-up gifts for all the birthdays and stuff we missed. When you get a steady income, you can buy me the most expensive bracelet in the state. Deal?"

Tora just laughed, "Deal."




Wally and Linda West

When the wind settled down Wally was standing there grinning. "I was in the neighborhood so I decided to stop by."

"Meaning you were going cross-country for something?" Linda asked with a smile.

"Something like that. I actually had to do something important."

"Oh? What?"

Wally leaned over and kissed her. "Love you."

Linda's smile grew, looking up at her husband with unabashed affection. "Reminding me why I love you?"

His gloved hand ran through her hair, then up to cup her cheek. "Pretty much." He didn't resist when she pulled him down to her again, smiling against her lips.
