ajremixSomething that's been on my mind for a while. Also I don't know why Ted is back, but he is for the sake of this drabble. I may do a prequel at some point, but I can feel my body succumbing to sickness so I'll just have to think about it some other day.

Summary: Some people wonder why Booster is in charge. Others wonder why that's a problem.
There was lots of hugs and tears and laughter and 'I'm so glad you're back and okay!' before anyone could concentrate on the mission again and when someone asked, "Now what?" half the assembled heroes look at one person in particular.
Ted blinked. "Um, hi?"
Bea, Tora and Nate give him looks. "Well? Aren't you going to come up with a plan?"
Ted's hands went up, "Whoa, hey- in case you forgot, I just got here after being dead or something like it for the last two years. Why don't you ask whoever got you guys this far in the first place?"
"That person was Booster," Nate said flatly.
Ted looked at his best friend who just shrugged in reply. "Okay... has he been doing a bad job or something?"
"Well... no."
"But it's Booster," Bea put in.
Ted looked at Gavril, Jaime and Skeets- the only ones that looked as confused has himself. "Am I missing something?"
"No clue," said Jaime.
"I am thinking Booster has done good job," Gavril replied.
"I have no complaints," Skeets supplied.
"If you guys are weirded out with Booster in charge," he told his old teammates, "why doesn't Nate take over?"
Though impossible to actually see, the way Nate looked away and rubbed the back of his neck suggested he was blushing. "I... don't actually know."
"You're okay with following Booster?" Tora asked, sounding surprised.
"Well, yeah. I mean- leading is part of what he does." Everyone looked at Ted blankly. All except for Booster himself who was starting to look a little embarrassed. "Diiiiiid you guys forget he was a star quarterback? Any good QB has to be adaptable, make snap decisions and lead, you know. It's kind of why they're such a big deal."
The three veteran heroes still looked a little dubious. "So he's going to stay in charge?"
"Unless one of you wants to step up, yes." Ted patted Booster's shoulder. "I have complete faith in him."
Booster gave his best friend a warm smile, touched by his defense. "Thanks, Ted." He turned to the rest of the group, clapping his hands together. "Alright, let's see if we can't figure out a pattern to Max's movements and shut him down for good. Skeets- what do we know?"
