....I think I inadvertantly found Sakuraba to be fun to torture cannonically.
Title: Hail to the Prince
Fandom: Eyeshield 21
Rating: PG for one swear word
Word Count: 195
Characters: Sakuraba
In response to:
jump100’s Prince challenge
Summary: Not all titles are compliments
It started off as a compliment. (“And here he is, the Prince of the White Knights! Sakuraba Haruto!”)
But it just got out of hand. (“Prince this, prince that! You keep that soft, pretty boy shit off the field!”)
And then it got corrupted. (“Does the prince need a hand up? Didn’t hit your highness too hard, did I?”)
And twisted. (“Ooo, don’t get the prince upset. He might have you exiled.”)
The title left a bitter taste in his mouth. (“There’s the prince- Ojo’s football hero!”)
~*~*~*~
Coach Shoji blew a long note on his whistle, signaling the end of practice. Motioning his team in for a huddle his pride in them was shown in the subtle way he berated their mistakes. A good team but they could be better. Always better but good nonetheless. He looked over and saw Shin standing over Sakuraba where the latter was painfully sitting up where he was last tackled.
“Anytime you want to grace us with your presence.” He bellowed.
Sakuraba glared up at Shin- anger not directed at him but himself. “I’m not a prince.”
Shin said nothing but retracted the thought to offer a hand.
