ajremixI’ve come to realize that I like the FMA anime possibly even more than the manga because it has such a delicious angst!Roy. I never knew an animated character could be so drool worthy, especially when putting a gun to his own head. Then I decided I have too many sicko freak sadists running around in my head.
Second FMA fic, this time on the omnipotent Roy Mustang. Apparently this angsty character pieces like being written out in this style, so I say go for it :P

Colonel Mustang might as well be perfect.

He’s strong and handsome.
~snap, roar~
His command is fair and subordinates undyingly loyal.
~snap and watch them all fall before him~
He’s charming and friendly.
~snap because he has no mind of his own~
He’s intelligent and efficient.
~snap because he is a dog blindly following orders~
And, above all, he’s always in control.
~snap and see the shadows on the wall that aren’t really shadows~
Before he became nationally certified, before he became the Flame Alchemist, Roy had a teacher.
~helpless, weaponless, pleading for mercy that is not his to give~
His teacher taught him that control was everything.
~because the only thing that he can control are the fires~
Without control Roy was a danger to everyone.
~fires that writhe like they’re in pain~
Without control his fire could miss its mark.
~fires that glow like accusing red eyes~
Without control his fire could burn everything.
~fires that run hot like blood~
Without control his fire could consume himself.
~snap and watch the fires rage~
Roy is always careful with his flame but sometimes he wonders.
~snap again, harder, hoping the roar of the flames will drown out the screams of the dead~
Why didn’t he ever lose control?
