Fic dump tonight because I realized I had a backlog of stuff I didn't put up for reasons I can't recall. So they are now up.

Summary: I-need-to-get-a-title-for-this AU. Jaime's parents meet Jaime's parents. Awkward.

Notes: Twisting the original idea that Ted and Booster were going to train the third Blue Beetle, the Reyes family was in Gotham when the events of Cataclysm/No Man's Land happened and Jaime was separated from his family. He was one of the children taken care of by Poison Ivy and detox treatments afterwards messed up his memory. Jaime did entry level work at Kord Industries where Ted eventually became his legal guardian and Jaime accidentally activated the scarab. Under the tutelage of Ted, Booster and to minor extent by various Birds and Bats, Jaime became the new Blue Beetle. He refers to Ted and Booster as his dads (who he helped hook up).

Jaime sat between his parents- his birth parents and he still had trouble remembering he was actually with them again -feeling more nervous now than when he met them for the first time in six years. Because now that all the reunion euphoria had died down, they were sitting down to talk to Ted and Booster. Jaime's legal guardian and his partner. The two men Jaime had come to consider his fathers.

Honestly, Texas kind of scared Jaime since about the only times they were in the news it was about religious, racist crackpots making life difficult for everyone else and while Jaime certainly hoped his biological parents weren't going to be bigots, the worry was still gnawing away at his stomach. And when Alberto said in that very careful way, "So you two are... partners?" Jaime kind of wanted to cover his eyes and ears and wait until the smoke cleared.

"Yes," Ted replied with a neutral, but very toothy grin, "we are. In every connotation of the word, modern and otherwise."

Bianca was looking at Booster- or Michael Carter, as he had introduced himself as since the entire superhero thing was a bomb Jaime wanted to hold off on for a bit -rather intensely. Booster bristled a bit and said stiffly, "We haven't corrupted your son, if that's what you're worried about. He seems to prefer girls over guys."

Bianca, however, just brushed that off, "I'm sorry it's just... I have this distinct feeling I've seen you somewhere before, but I can't place where..."

On the other end of the table, Booster and Ted exchanged glances. Then they looked at Jaime who shrugged. They looked at each other again and Ted gave a 'well, why not?' shrug.

Carefully, Booster said, "You might've seen me in costume. Um, as Booster Gold." So much for not dropping that bomb.

Now Alberto was carefully scrutinizing Booster, going so far as to tilting his head and squinting an eye. Bianca, however, covered his face with her hands, glasses being pushed up to her forehead as she let out what could only be labeled an embarrassed giggle. "Oh no- I can't believe this. I bought your cologne for my boyfriend when I was in college!"

Ted let out a loud bark of laughter and Booster's lips started twitching. "Really? What was it called- Musk? Dusk? That stuff smelled awful."

"It was," Bianca's voice was shaking as she tried to hold back her laughter, "I bought it because I thought you were sexy!"

That ended Ted- he put his head to the table, laughing helplessly which set off both Bianca and Booster and Alberto couldn't help getting swept up in the absurdity of it all. Jaime beamed at them all and knew everything was going to be alright.
