Title: Double-Sided
Fandom: Bleach
Rating: G
Word Count: 418
Characters: Hitsugaya and Hinamori
Summary: For the second [livejournal.com profile] kurosaki_clinic Fan Challenge. Requested by [livejournal.com profile] rukia. Hitsugaya’s double-sided. And transparent on both.

Why, Hitsugaya thought to himself, am I even here? He was currently trudging down one of the academy halls, ignoring the looks he got from anyone else. While they were fewer then the ones he’d get outside the Sereitai, they were still too many for his liking.

“Shirou-chan!”

Hitsugaya felt an eye twitched. Being called that really didn’t help much either (even if it did get him found quicker). He didn’t turn around, but Hinamori ran around to the front of him anyway. She stood before him, panting slightly. “I was waiting for you outside of your class!” She said breathlessly. “Did you not see me?”

Turning his head away with a sneer he said, “Maybe I didn’t want to go with you.”

She laughed as if he were joking and the sneer deepened. “C’mon!” She said, taking his hand. “Let’s have lunch!”

A surge of panic went through Hitsugaya and he jerked his hand away. Again he cursed his pale appearance. “Eat by yourself!” He snapped.

“I’m not eating by myself.” She replied. “I’m eating with Abarai-kun and Kira-kun. You don’t want to eat with us?”

Still blushing he crossed his arms at the wrist, stuffing his fingers down the belt of his hakama. “Of course not. You guys are upperclassmen. I’m still a first year.”

Uncomprehending Hinamori said, “So?”

Hitsugaya grasped any excuse that came to mind. “So….. People will start thinking you guys are helping me get good grades.”

Again she laughed and patted his shoulder (which was, curse it all, white and made him look even more like a sheet). “No they won’t! You get good grades because you’re smart!”

“Not everyone will think that way.” He pointed out.

Hinamori looked at him for a moment. Finally she asked, “You really don’t want to eat with us?”

“Not a good idea.” Hitsugaya said firmly.

“Okay, then.” Though she didn’t seem too entirely convinced, but took a step away. “If you change your mind, we’ll be at the courtyard by the Spirit Arts Department.” Hinamori gave him a little smile and wave before she danced off.

Hitsugaya watched her leave under hooded eyes, not blinking or looking away until she had turned the corner. Then another voice said at his ear, “Does Shirou-chan have a crush?”

Giving his teasing classmates a glare that would’ve burned a hole through them and three of their generations, Hitsugaya merely said, “Stuff yourselves,” and stalked off.

Hinamori had a nasty tendency of ruining his day by just being there…..
