[challenge] Sentence Prompt

Back from a nice vacation and in the process of trying to get back into my daily routine- which will start tomorrow with a prompt visit to the grocery store...

So, as I resettle we're going to do another challenge with a twist. Pick a series from the list:

Transformers
MLP: Friendship is Magic
Mass Effect
JLI
Bat-family
Birds of Prey
Young Justice (comics)
General DCU
Ultimate Spider-Man
Slam Dunk
One Piece
Invader Zim
Fullmetal Alchemist
Red vs Blue
Discworld
Star Wars: Republic Commando
Skip Tracers
human!Wreckers

Series only, please NO CHARACTERS. This is will probably be challenging enough as it.

Pick up a book- preferably the closest one on hand. Go to page 42 and type the 6th sentence. I'll have to make a drabble in your chosen series that uses that sentence.

Let's see how long it takes me to rue this challenge.

"You're going out with him again? After what an utter disaster the first date was?" Beatriz flopped on Tora's bed with a disgusted 'ugh!' "Why are you torturing yourself?"

"Because I'm sure Guy really is a sweetie underneath all the..."

"Guy-ness?"

"Gruff-ness," Tora said smartly, checking to see that her hair clip was secure. "I don't believe that the sweet Guy we first met was just because of some silly knock on the head."

Rolling over on to her belly, Beatriz continued making faces at Tora in the mirror while Tora pretended not to be laughing at her. "I don't see why we can't knock him on the head again. Maybe he'll regain some decency..."

"Bea- that's a terrible thing to say!"

"It would be if it weren't true. Face it- the man is a neanderthal."

"Well, I don't believe it." Tora stood, grabbing her purse and coat. These arguments with Beatriz actually did her some good, reinforcing her belief that Guy wasn't nearly as terrible as he tried to be. Belief was everything. If she didn't believe so strongly, she would've cast him aside- ignored him and scoffed at him just like everyone else did. But he needed the attention and affection, just as anyone else did and Tora knew, once he understood that her affection was honest, he'd stop trying to drive her away.
