So it's JUST slow enough for me to put this up. It'll be the first of my (hopefully) monthly 24-hour challenges. If I can recall to do this on a monthly basis it'll be (idealy) on the first or within the first week of the month.

So this month's challenge is going to be backstory. Pick a character- whatever character you know (or think) I'm familiar with and I'll write a short drabble depicting their past however I see it. Because I probably won't be able to get to these as quickly as my previous challenges, you're free to pick three characters at a time. After I've finished all three of your challenges, you may pick another three. If someone else has picked a character you wanted to see a story of, you can still ask for them and I'll just do a different scene.

CHALLENGE IS NOW CLOSED BECAUSE GOOD GOD I HAVE SO MANY PROMPTS I SHOULD'VE THOUGHT THIS THROUGH MORE^^;;

AND I'VE FINISHED! MWAHAHAHA!

Okay, memory of not-movie!Alessa is shaky and wiki isn't the most helpful when it comes to her...

"Alessa, darling child, don't weep."

"The girls at school again," she murmured, face buried in her mother's lap, "they were being mean. They're always mean."

"Hush, Alessa. Mommy is here," she soothed, stroking Alessa's hair softly, "they can't be mean to you here."

"Why can't they be nice like you and Claudia? Why do the have to be so cruel to me?"

"Because you're different, my darling."

"I don't want to be different!"

Dahlia wrapped her arms around her daughter, pulling her up to sit on her lap. "My sweet child, you're different because you're meant for greater things. Those girls don't understand that, but they know that you will be something that they can never be and they're jealous and afraid."

"I don't wanna go to school, Mommy." Alessa sniffled, nuzzling at her mother's neck. "I wanna play with Claudia in the fields. She's not afraid of me."

"No, Claudia isn't." Dahlia kissed the girl's head and pulled her off her lap. "You just stay here and read you books, child. Mommy will be back later, okay?"

"Okay." Reluctantly Alessa slid to the floor and went to grab her favorite book, The Lost World. Her mother left the room as she began to flip to her favorite part and soon the little girl was so absorbed in the story she didn't hear the door lock from the outside.
